Twenty-five years have passed since the death of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, sparking a renewed interest in this spiritual giant of the 20th century. It is at once a soaring tribute to a spiritual icon, a powerful witness of authentic Christian charity, and a guidepost for all who seek hope in our turbulent times. Blessed to have the Blessed Sacrament reposed in a chapel in our house, prayer is the heartbeat of our community life. The Mother Teresa House is also a hub for Catholic women’s community in the Milwaukee area and frequently hosts events for young adult women.
There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data. Another mother who had addiction issues left the Mother Teresa Home early because she felt she was ready to move on. She soon realized she still needed the guidance and help provided by not only those who run the home, but the other mothers who have faced similar situations. As her bedroom was already filled, Calire and her team mentored this woman with home economic skills, class work and daycare. “The women will be able to take advantage of our food pantry, dining room services, seminars on weatherization, counseling, health care workshops and cooking demonstrations conducted by Food Bank of WNY. “My youngest son had an unplanned pregnancy with his girlfriend,” Calire said, just hours before the 4 p.m.

After they did the C section, we were able to go into the room and see him. Three or four days later he was able to come home, and he came home with us,” Hussar said. Calire and the birth mother kept in contact with the Hussars up until the time of birth.
Throughout the year, we discover the great j o y of choosing love- even when it’s hard. On the campus of St. Robert Catholic Church, the Mother Teresa House is a Catholic community of young adult women. Hussar, who worked in a daycare center, stayed in contact with Calire.

The idea of creating the Mother Teresa Home came to Calire while in adoration, five years before it opened. She realized that, while she was actively protecting the unborn through a prayerful presence outside abortion clinics, she needed to do something for the children once they came into the world. She noticed the diocese had many unused rectories and convents that could be used for housing. The bishop, along with several supports from the community, toured the grounds as Bishop Fisher blessed the three colorful murals that brighten up the backyard of the former St. Adalbert Rectory. She named her workroom after St. Gianna Beretta Mollag, an Italian pediatrician who became the patron saint of the pro-life movement in 2004. In 1962, the saint died seven days after giving birth to her fourth child. Today, her daughter Gianna Emanuele is a doctor of geriatrics. Mother Teresa Home provides shelter, community service, and education referral services for all mothers in need. She spent four years convincing people if they built it, people would come.
Now, celebrating its fifth year, the home for women experiencing pressure to end their pregnancies, has seen 61 moms and 65 babies come through the house. The recent overturning of Roe v. Wade seems like a victory for the pro-life community. But instead of being a time to celebrate, it is a time to refocus attention on how best to serve women with unexpected pregnancies. A winter storm that the meteorologists with the National Weather Service are calling a "once in a generation" event is headed toward Western New York, just in time for the holidays.

Calire and her husband David Calire will welcome their first “houseguest” Sept. 15, 11 days after the canonization of Mother Teresa in Rome for whom the home is named. The Calires signed on for a five-year commitment to launch the program.
